Plockton Hotel: Popular hotel and pub with magnificent views of Loch Carron from the waterside garden. Serves lunch and dinner, check serving times. Best to book for dinner at high season.

Plockton Inn: Recently refurbished hotel and bar. Live ceilidh music on a Tuesday evening.

The Shores Restaurant: Restaurant open Tuesday – Saturday, 17.00-20.30, serving a small locally sourced mainly seafood menu.

Shonzeys Van: Mobile fresh fish and chip van on Thursday, by Plockton village hall. Orders must be placed prior to 16.00 by messaging on + 44 (0) 7703 386420

The Harbour Fish Bar: Located near the Plockton main car park, selling fish & chips, burgers and fast food. Open lunchtime until 20.00

Off the Croft: New take away selling hand-made burgers, sausages etc. Monday – Saturday, 9.30 – 21.30.

Meghan’s: Ice Cream, Coffee, Sandwiches and Baking.

A bit further afield

Beyond the village of Plockton there is a wide choice of excellent restaurants, inns, cafes and takeaways across Lochalsh, Isle of Syke, Lochcarron, Applecross and Torridon. Many of these establishments support the local supply chain and provide vital employment opportunities in their various communities. We hope you will enjoy visiting some of these eateries as you explore the area. Always remember to check opening hours and availability in advance of travelling.

Duirnish and Kyle of Lochalsh

The Croft Café, Duirnish: A very popular stop off approx. 3 miles from Plockton.

The Fisherman’s Kitchen, Kyle of Lochalsh: Freshly prepared hot and cold takeaway.

Loch Carron, Kishorn, Applecross and Sheildaig (Travelling North from Plockton)

The Bistro Loch Carron: Loch Carron is around a 15-mile drive from Plockton. The Bistro is receiving great reviews.

The Kishorn Fish Bar: Excellent seafood restaurant. A fantastic stop off on a journey over to the Applecross, Sheildaig, Torridon areas.

Applecross Inn: Take the amazing drive over the Bealach na ba to get there – one of Scotland’s great drives. It is not advised that you take camper vans or caravans on the Bealach na ba. Food served all day. Take the coastal road north of Applecross towards Sheildaig for spectacular views of Raasay and Skye.

The Sheildaig Bar & Coastal Kitchen: Take in the small and vibrant community of Sheildaig.

The Torridon Hotel: If you are heading north up the west coast from Plockton, perhaps taking in the NC500 route, The Torridon is a wonderful stop off on your journey. Approximately 90 minutes driving from Plockton.

Glenelg

Glenelg Inn: Great Highland hospitality with excellent menu including vegetarian options. Lunch, 12.00- 14.30 Dinner, 17.00 – 20.30. Booking recommended.

Dun Inn/Dun Brewery: Small organic brewery, with own inn on site in a former cow shed. Drink on site, pizza (seasonal), pies and take away beer. Open 12.00 to 18.00 daily from end March to End September.

Isle of Skye, North

The Stein Inn, Skye: The oldest inn on Skye with classic Scottish menu. Lunch, 12.00- 14.00. Dinner 17.00 - 21.00. Best to book as this will be approximately 90 minute’s driving from Plockton.

Loch Bay Restaurant: Intimate fine dining on the Waternish Peninsula. The 6 tables are booked many months in advance, so it is best to contact Loch Bay well ahead of your visit to the area. Approximately 90 minutes driving from Plockton.

The Three Chimneys: On the northwestern side of Skye, is one of Scotland’s great restaurants. Owned by renowned hotelier Gordon Campbell-Grey. We suggest you ring to check availability as this is an extremely popular venue during the peak season.

The Ferry Inn, Uig: The port at Uig is one of the gateways to the Outer Hebrides. If you are exploring the spectacular northern end of Skye, the village of Uig is a great stopping point on the road back to Plockton.

MacKenzies Stores, Staffin: On the northeastern side of Skye, in the village of Staffin. Offers cooked to order take away Indian food. An unexpected find in a beautiful location.

Sea Breezes Restaurant, Portree: Portree is the principal town on Skye. The drive through the Cuillin Hills of Skye is spectacular. It's approx. 40 miles from Plockton to Portree. Sea Breezes is one of many restaurants in the town.

Pizza in the Skye: Not a restaurant, but a takeaway van in Portree. Very tasty wood-fired pizza. Call or email to check opening times. Best to pre-order.

Isle of Skye, South

Hotel Eilean Iarmain: On Skye’s southern coastline, with views over the Sound of Sleat, Hotel Eilean Iarmain serves delicious lunch and evening meals. Try the Am Pràban Bar for a light meal or a taste of Gaelic spirits.

The Inn at Àird A’ Bhàsair: Close to the ferry terminal at Armadale (Mallaig to Armadale crossing) with views across to Knoydart.

Kinloch Lodge: The white façade of this famous family-owned hotel and restaurant has been welcoming guests for over 50 years. Specialises in locally sourced seasonal produce and is a must for that special lunch or dinner. Approximately 40 minutes driving from Plockton

Coruisk House: Fine dining in the remote village of Elgol, Isle of Skye.

The Oyster Shed, Carbost: A small seafood takeaway in the village of Carbost.

Smokin’ Skye: A small BBQ hut on the south of Skye. Ring for availability.
